Fee must be paid online only. A separate application and separate fee are required for each Pay Level applied for.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)

  • Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 – 33 years
  • Technician Grade-III (all trades): 18 – 30 years

Age relaxation is applicable to SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other categories as per extant Railway rules (see Para 8.1 of the official CEN for the full relaxation table).

Eligibility (Educational/Technical Qualification)

Qualification requirements vary by post and are listed post-wise in Annexure A of the official CEN — generally ITI/Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) in the notified trade for Technician Grade-III posts, and the qualification specified for Technician Grade-I Signal. Candidates must already hold the prescribed qualification from a recognised Board/University/Institute as on the closing date (29 July 2026); those awaiting final results are not eligible to apply. Candidates should check Annexure A of the CEN for their specific post's exact qualification.

Selection Process

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Separate CBT for each Pay Level. For Technician Grade-I Signal: 90 minutes, 100 questions. Negative marking of 1/3rd mark per wrong answer applies to CBTs.
  2. Minimum qualifying percentage in CBT: UR – 40%, EWS – 40%, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) – 30%, SC – 30%, ST – 25% (relaxable by 2 marks for PwBD candidates in case of shortage against reserved vacancies).
  3. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisting for DV is done RRB-wise at 1:1 ratio of vacancies, based on CBT merit.
  4. Medical Examination (ME): As per the medical standard prescribed for each post (Annexure A).

  1. Visit the official website of your chosen RRB or rrbapply.gov.in.
  2. Complete "Create an Account" registration if not already registered for an earlier RRB CEN (2024/2025/2026).
  3. Fill the online application for CEN 02/2026, choosing only one RRB per Pay Level.
  4. Upload the live photo and signature as per specifications, and pay the applicable examination fee online.
  5. Submit the application before 29 July 2026 (23:59 hrs); fee payment is accepted till 31 July 2026.
