Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination passed from a recognised board. A Munshi/Moulvi certificate, or a 2-year ITI course certified by NCVT/SCVT, or a 3-year Polytechnic Engineering Diploma is treated as equivalent to Intermediate for this post.
- Technical Qualification: Proficiency in shorthand (stenography) as well as computer typing/basic word processing, in both Hindi and English, is mandatory.
- Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025): Minimum 18 years; Maximum 37 years for unreserved male candidates, with relaxations for Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class, women and SC/ST candidates as per the official notification.
Selection Process
Selection for the Stenographer post is based on a Written Examination followed by a Skill (Practical) Test:
- Written Examination (Objective) – A single General Knowledge paper comprising three sections: General Studies (50 questions), General Science & Mathematics (50 questions), and Mental Ability/Reasoning (50 questions) — 150 questions in total, worth 4 marks each for a correct answer, with 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
